Barons Go 1-2 During Exhibition Weeekend

The Oil Barons started the exhibition schedule this past weekend going 1-2 in their first 3 games. The team was very tentative Friday losing 5-2 in Sherwood Park. Jessey Touchette and Parker Evans-Campbell scored in what can only be described as a very sloppy game.

The Barons bounced back with a 3-2 overtime victory in Lloydminster but once again the game was a less than stellar effort on behalf of the MOB. Goal scorers were Brock Maschmeyer, Luc Lalor and Jessey Touchette with the winner.

The Barons dropped a 2-1 decision in Bonnyville Sunday in what was probably the best game of the weekend. Mike Marianchuk scored the lone goal on a power play in the 1st period.

The team is now down to 29 players - 2 Goalies, 11 Defence and 16 Forwards heading into Okotoks Thursday Aug 30th for another 3 game swing.

Did You Know

Rookie forward Luc Lalor led the team with 1 goal and 2 assists in 2 games on the weekend. Jesse Touchette had 2 goals while Scott Pooley had 2 assists.

Goalie Tanner Jaillet was stellar allowing only 3 goals in 5 periods of action.
