The Barons split 2 games this weekend in Sherwood Park losing 5-4 Saturday and rebounding for a 9-4 win Sunday.
The first game saw a lackluster effort where the team fell behind 5-1 before a furious rally in the last 8 minutes cut the lead to 5-4. The Barons had the tying goal waved off with 1 minute left as the ref claimed the puck hit the crossbar. Replays clearly indicated the puck actually hit the back of the net but the hockey gods were not on our side. The Barons out shot Sherwood Park 50-27 and out chanced them 28-14. Mike Puddifant had 2 goals and Markus Gerbrandt had 1 goal and 1 assists in the loss.
The second game saw a more consistent effort by the MOB and the offence once again was clicking on all cylinders. The MOB out shot Sherwood Park 47-21 and out chanced them 22-11. Killian Hutt had 4 assists while Carson Cooper and Harrison Hendrix notched 2 goals each. Rookie Tanner Jaillet had the win in net.
The MOB will look to close out the series Wednesday March 14th at the Casman Centre.
