Barons Win a Thriller

The Barons got back in the series with a hard fought 3-2 win over Spruce Grove last night at the Casman Centre in front of a raucous crowd. Justin Rose scored a short handed goal with 5 minutes remaining to tie the game and Markus Gerbrandt then scored the winner on the power play with 48 seconds remaining.

The MOB out shot the Saints 31-28 and had a 17-6 edge in scoring chances. The Barons have now scored 3 short handed goals and 23 power play goals in the playoffs this season.

Brett Printz got his first career playoff point in his 12th game.

Markus Gerbrandt had 5 hits, 5 shots and 4 scoring chances on the night.

Oil Baron Alumni Kyle Johnson, Josh Lee and Adam Manah all made the trek north to support their former team.
