The Oil Barons completed the 2011/12 regular season with a 4-1 win in Spruce Grove on Sunday. The team finished with a record of 47-9-4 good for 98 points and second in the tough North Division.
The season has been a great success to this point and we are very proud of our team. We faced a lot of adversity this season with injuries but regardless of who is in the line-up we have received 100% effort from our boys.
I would like to thank all those involved in the Oil Barons organization for contributing to our success. The Board of Director's for their vision and encouragement, the Billets who graciously open up their homes and support the players, the numerous volunteers and sponsors, and especially to you the fans who continue to support our team game in and game out.
With playoffs starting this weekend we are hopeful that we can have another long run of exciting hockey for the community of Fort McMurray.
